Veterans choir releases debut record for Armed Forces Day

A choir of blind veterans has released its debut record ahead of Armed Forces Day on Saturday (29 June).

Vision in Song was formed in 2018 and is made up of 10 visually impaired veterans, ranging in age from 76 to 96.

RECORD

The record, called Sing as We Go, features war-time hits including Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag and It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.

All proceeds from the album will go to Blind Veterans UK, the charity behind the choir.

Many of the members have a history of singing, but either stopped or couldn’t be accommodated by their old choirs after losing their sight.

MUSIC

The group meets regularly to practice and have given their first performances, too.

The release of the album is accompanied by their music video to Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag, which can be viewed below.

The EP is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.
