Celebrate Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26 June by taking on the 13 Bridges Challenge to raise money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
Take part in London’s only Armed Forces Day event this June as participants are invited on a 10-mile walk through Greater London, exploring the 13 bridges that make up the city.
Thank you
Organised by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, in partnership with Fijitsu, Corps Security and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, the walk will start at Tower Bridge and finish at Eel Brook Common after the final bridge, Battersea Bridge, is crossed.
Sir Andrew Gregory, CEO at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, says: “Armed Forces Day is a time to thank servicemen and women for their selfless commitment to our Nation.
“Some of those individuals and families need our support during and after their military service; SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity fills that need. The 13 Bridges Challenge – London’s only Armed Forces Day event – is an excellent opportunity to get together and raise money for SSAFA. Thank you for your generosity.”
Support
Participants will be supported throughout by volunteers from the local Armed Forces community and there will also be an area at the finish line for refreshments and photo opportunities.
SSAFA supporter and Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton says: “Now more than ever, our Veterans and service personnel, both old and young, need our help and support.
The event will take place on Saturday 26 June and requires a £50 fundraising target per person which will go to SSAFA to help them continue to provide vital support to the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families.
